Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two men have been charged related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
