The Hit Drama Confirmed for 7th Season on BBC
The beloved crime series Line of Duty will make a comeback for its seventh installment, confirmed by the broadcaster.
A brand new six-part season created by Jed Mercurio will begin filming in Northern Ireland in the coming months, according to the production team.
Vicky McClure shared her enthusiasm about the return, stating she was "so excited" about the series' return. Her co-star added, "How wonderful it is to know that the main trio will be back filming together next year."
The last series concluded in 2021 with a finale that drew in over 17 million audience members. Rumors about a new season have been circulating for some time, but official word only arrived this week.

Series seven will open with AC-12 no longer existing and rebranded as the new police oversight body, as revealed by the announcement.
Martin Compston's character, Vicky McClure's role, and Adrian Dunbar's part remain working to tackle misconduct within the law enforcement.
Their work "faces unprecedented challenges", and in this climate, these officers are assigned their "most sensitive case so far."

The conclusion of series six drew the long-running storyline about the search for criminal mastermind known as "H" to a close, and the creative team said at the time there were no intentions for further series.
Nevertheless, the corporation confirmed on this week that a new season is now in development.
