Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and through an impressive performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the studio's achievements, its gifted cast also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English received Best Lead Performer for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers collected seven awards during the show.
Other notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. It is important to note, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only 4 special—Critics Choice, Breakthrough Award, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamer Selection—decided by critics.
