British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
